Welcome students, staff and parents! My name is Miss Hoey, I am a 6th grade teacher at Bellamy Middle school here in Chicopee,
Massachusetts. You will find as you look through this site, we in Room 117 have been very busy. We are continually improving
our Reading and Writing skills by using READ180 and Seeing Stars. We are constantly working on improving our Math skills in
prepration for the MCAS test in May. In science we are learning all about soil types and we are still working on our African
Violet experiment (Thanks Mrs. Kaulback!) In history, we just wrapped up a unit on Mesopotamia (go ahead, ask us the names
of the rivers or what country is present day Mesopotamia, you can't trick us!!) and we have just begun to work on a new unit
on Egypt.

And so the experiment begins. This will involve all students and applies to all subject areas
believe it or not. By next year (January) we should have a King and a Queen chicken! Keep checking back for pictures, student
observations and more importantly a smell by smell account of the project!!!

READ ALL ABOUT IT.... IT'S DONE EVERYONE. All that work, the smell the weighing and measuring, the spices, and the predictions,
it's all done!! Only those of you who still check the site will know, they are done!! Soon they will be on proud display
for all to see in Bellamy's library!!
